Robert J. House Best Research Paper Award.

The Robert J. House Paper Award, generously sponsored by University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, honored an outstanding recent dissertation-based article/paper, or other published paper on leadership, societal or organizational culture using the GLOBE database, GLOBE research tools, GLOBE leadership or GLOBE culture theory.

Manuscript topics include leadership, organizational behavior, organization theory, strategic management, corporate social responsibility, ethics, or any other organizational relevant topic. The award honors Robert J. House, the principal investigator and co-founder of the Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness (GLOBE) Research Program, and one of the foremost experts on leadership across cultures. (A brief biography of Robert J. House, a 2011 International Leadership Association Lifetime Achievement Award Winner can be found here).

The winner of the Robert J. House Research Paper Award received a $ 2,500 USD cash prize and was honored at a GLOBE meeting at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and/or the Academy of International Business Annual Meeting. The Robert J. House Best Research Paper Award was given from 2015 to 2019.

The winners of the award were as follows:

To be considered for the House Award, nominees submitted a PDF version of their published or unpublished paper (from a dissertation) along with the curriculum vitae of all co-authors. The selection committee members then each reviewed and rated the submissions on innovation and contribution, theoretical rigor and methodological rigor before meeting to determine the winning paper.
