Project Director

Dr. Mansour Javidan

Dr. Mansour Javidan is the organizer and chair of the panel. He is Garvin Distinguished Professor and Director of Najafi Global Mindset Institute at Thunderbird School of Global management, Arizona State University. He is Project Director and a Principal Co-Investigator and of the current GLOBE 2020 project in 142 countries/societies.

Mansour is a former CEO of GLOBE Foundation (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness, globeproject.com) and has been a co-principal investigator of GLOBE research program since its beginning in the early 1990’s.

He is a coeditor of the 2004 GLOBE book, which won the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s (SIOP) “M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Research in The Workplace.” He is also a coauthor of the latest GLOBE book, which received the 2015 University of San Diego and International Leadership Association (ILA) leadership book award for “Scholarly Rigor and Critical Thought.”

Mansour’s co-authored article on global leadership received the Decade’s Best Paper Award (2006- 2016) by the Academy of Management Perspectives. He was recently recognized as among the top 100 most influential (i.e., top 0.6%) authors in Organization Behavior in the world. He is also recognized as among the top 2% most cited scientists in the field of business and management in the world.

Principal Co-Investigator

Dr. Rick Cotton

Dr. Rick Cotton is a Principal Co-Investigator for GLOBE and an Associate Professor at the University of Victoria’s Gustavson School of Business. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Academy of Management Careers Division and a core research team member of the 5C (Cross-Cultural Collaboration on Contemporary Careers) Group.

His research has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review, among others.

He has won five Academy of Management Best Paper Awards and had more than a dozen articles selected for the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. He has been a SVP and has consulted or worked for major multinationals including Accenture, Citibank, General Electric, Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, and United Technologies.

Principal Co-Investigator

Dr. Peter Dorfman

Dr. Peter Dorfman is the past CEO of GLOBE and currently a member of the GLOBE board. He has been a co-principal investigator of GLOBE research program since its beginning in the early 1990’s and currently a co-principal investigator for this phase of GLOBE project. He is a Fulbright scholar, and held distinguished professorships including Robert O. Anderson and Bank of America Distinguished Professor.

Among his awards, he was a coauthor in receiving the outstanding article in Leadership Quarterly and SIOP William Owens Scholarly Achievement Award. He was coeditor of the 2004 GLOBE book, which won the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s (SIOP) “M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Research in The Workplace.”

He is also a coauthor of the latest GLOBE book, published in August, 2014 which received the 2015 University of San Diego and International Leadership Association (ILA) leadership book award. Dr. Amanda Bullough

Dr. Amanda Bullough is an Associate Professor of Management and Research Director and Co-founder of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at the University of Delaware. She is also a Principal Co-Investigator for GLOBE 2020. Her research spans leadership, organizational behavior, cross-cultural management, and entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on women and gender.

Dr. Bullough teaches topics related to organizational behavior and global leadership. She publishes in premier journals like the Journal of Management, Academy of Management Perspectives, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Leadership Quarterly, and others, and has presented at countless international business and management conferences.

She has traveled and worked in approximately 40 countries and is a Past-President of the Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB).

Co-principal Investigator

Dr. Carolyn Egri

Dr. Carolyn P. Egri is William J.A. Rowe EMBA Alumni Professor at the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. She is a co-principal investigator for GLOBE 2020 project and has co-authored several large-scale cross-cultural studies.

She has published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Business Review, and Strategic Management Journal.

Dr. Mila Lazarova

Dr. Mila Lazarova (PhD, Rutgers University, USA) is the Canada Research Chair in Global Workforce Management and a Professor of International Business at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University (Canada).

Her research interests include global careers, the role of organizational career development and mobility practices in organizations; repatriation and career impact of international assignments; and HR issues related to workplace integration of skilled migrants. Mila has published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Organizational Science, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Management Journal.

Mila sits on numerous editorial boards and is currently an Associate Editor at the Journal of World Business and Human Resource Management Journal. Mila’s latest book projects are the Routledge Companion to Career Studies (as a co-editor, with Hugh Gunz and Wolfgang Mayrhofer) and Essentials of International HRM, 2nd ed. (as an author, together with Dave Thomas and Elaine Farndale)

Dr. Stacey Fitzsimmons

Dr. Stacey Fitzsimmons is an Associate Professor of International business at the Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, and a GLOBE 2020 Principal Co-Investigator. Her research examines how multicultural and migrant employees contribute to their teams and organizations.

Her research has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of International Business Studies, Human Resource Management Review, and Organization Studies. Her research awards include the International Human Resources Scholarly Research award from the Academy of Management and the Emerging Scholar award from the Women in the Academy of International Business.

She is guest editing an upcoming special issue of the Journal of the International Business Studies, called Rethinking Global Mobility: Challenges and Opportunities for International Business.
